Kitty the Kiln

Here is the answer to the Sneaky Peek post I made earlier this week!

Several of you guessed correctly! Kitty is my "new to me" kiln. I found her on EBAY and got her for a song. She looked beautiful on the outside but was a little worse for wear on the inside. I was able to order some parts and put her back together, so now she's as pretty on the inside as out. I was a little nervous about it because it took some electrical work, but between the written and video instructions, she fired right up!! Yeah!! I wish I had taken pictures while I had her all in pieces so I could prove I did it myself, but I didn't, so you'll just have to take my word for it.

HERE SHE IS!!!

I've been busy making some things to go inside, as well. I'm making some ceramic jewelry and I hope to get a booth at our local Farmer's Market on Market Square in Knoxville. I've been wanting to do this for a while and am so excited to give it a try. I'll let you know if it works out (you have to be approved). There are lots of arts and craft booths even though it is mainly for local vegetables. One of the rules is that you have to produce, grow, or make by hand everything that you sell. Here are a few pieces before they have been fired and glazed. They are going to become jewelry. What do you think?

I loaded them all into the kiln and I'm going to fire them tomorrow. Here's what Kitty looks like when her belly is full.

I had to move a shelf over so the cutoff mechanism will work

She's all dressed up and ready to go! Come back soon to see how it goes. Hopefully, my wiring will work properly!!!!

As always, thank you SO much for stopping by and have a great day!

Painting on the Pad

Have you ever tried "painting" on your IPad? I have a new app on my IPad that I absolutely LOVE!!! It's called ArtRage and it allows you to draw or paint pictures with your finger and I'm completely obsessed with it at the moment. Here are a few pictures I made which were inspired by Autumn.
Hope you enjoy these BRIGHTS!

Here are a few pics from this summer

And finally, a summer sand dollar.

How do you like to express your creative side? This is such a fun, quick, app for drawing and as a BONUS, NO MESS!

p.s. Today is my 46th birthday and I'm going with my hubby to a great new restaurant called Tupelo Honey Cafe. It just opened in Knoxville and we have eaten there one time.It is FANTASTIC! I'll share some pictures of my supper soon.

'Twas the night before Easter

Hi friends. Thank you for stoppin' by to visit.

Today was a beautiful day! We've had a very warm spring and today was bright sunshine with temp in the low 70's. My hubby, T, and I went to a place in downtown Knoxville called Market Square. It is an area that's a large pedestrian shopping, restaurant, and green space that has become very popular in the last few years. In another couple of weeks there will be a farmers' market  from May thru October, which is one of my favorite things to do.  Here are some pics of this  glorious, sunshiney spot. Can you see how blue the sky is?

Funny man waving a pretty ribbonny thingy

Kiddos running through the water fountains
The green sign in the background is my absolute FAV shop in town. Come in and see the BLISS!

OWL LOVE

I noticed in the blogs from England these are called bunting instead of banners.

Yummy Scarves!

This apron came home with me - now what do I do with it? I bought my Easter ham.

Tomorrow is Easter Sunday and I pray you have time to reflect on our Savior and get to spend time with family and friends.  Thank you for visiting and leave me a message if you stopped by.
